France requires CSE consultation before applying branch senior-employment plans in small firms
Since October 26, 2026, French companies with fewer than 300 employees must consult their Social and Economic Committee (CSE), where one exists, before applying a branch-level action plan for experienced workers via a unilateral document, following a failed in-company negotiation. The requirement stems from the social dialogue reform law of October 24, 2025.
